Tech Tuesday – Free Heritage Collector Suite Giveaway in Random Drawing!

blog heritage collector1(This campaign is closed.)

Good news!  After this post went to press, LifeStory Productions, Inc., informed me that they will match my giveaway, so the person that wins this drawing will get the upgrade FREE!  Thank you LifeStory! :)   Here’s the original post:

Are you like me?  I have family photos in shoeboxes, orange boxes, banker boxes, binders, and on my computer.  I have copies of research documents in binders, a file cabinet, banker boxes, and on my computer.  It’s really not my fault.  I’m a product of changing times as we moved from a world with everything in print to everything digitized.

If you are like me, you’ve probably searched for a way to organize your family history images whether they be family photos or scanned documents in a manner that will be easily retrievable.

I have found a solution to this problem!  It’s called the Heritage Collector Suite by LifeStory Productions, Inc.  and I’m giving away in a random drawing a free copy of the software (version with copyright 2008) with the Digital Family History Guidebook.

Note:  There is a newer version of this software (Version 6.2).  If you are the winner of this drawing you may use this software as is or upload the upgrade new version (Version 6.2) for $29.99.

Heritage Collector Professional Suite is a software program that makes organizing your photos and digital images a snap.  With this program you may:

  • Group different file types into collections – With this feature you may create a digital file cabinet for all your research, whether it is in a pdf, doc, or jpg file.
  • Scan photos
  • Make slide shows
  • Create hard bound books
  • Create scrapbooks
  • Create map spots on an image
  • Organize media for quick retrieval
  • Annotate photos
  • Search by GPS location
  • Frame Photos

On their website, LifeStory Productions, Inc., describes this product:

“We’ve learned a lot about family history during the past fifteen years. We put it all into Heritage Collector. The software contains everything you need to to manage, organize, share and preserve family history.

“Tag graves and other family history locations with GPS coordinates. The GPS Maps module can automatically turn your coordinates into cemetery maps to be printed or easily converted  into a PDF and e-mailed to family.
LifeStory can now help you organize and format a family history by providing a program called, “Creating a Family History.” The program contains printed and video tutorials to help you learn how to scan and format a family history. This program will show you how publish your history on a CD/DVD allowing you to include it in your printed history.”

With this software, I have been able to scan all my photos having to do with my Smith Family and have combined them into one collection labeled “Smith.”  I have also been able to scan and merge my Smith research documents into this collection.  Now, when I need to access a doc or photo, this software makes it easy to find the one I need.

Would you like to see how it works?  Take a tour of their software.

You may order the Heritage Collector Professional Suite at their website.

If you want to enter this drawing, leave a comment below this post by the end of the day 11:59 PM Mountain Time on Saturday, October 1, 2011.   Drawing will be conducted at Random.org on Monday, October 3.  Odds of winning are variable according to the number of people who leave a comment!

Disclaimer:  LifeStory Productions, Inc., has given me this software to giveaway in this drawing.  They have not paid me to write this post.
